A multiyear project headed up by the Federated Women’s Institutes of Ontario to gather and digitize Tweedsmuir History scrapbooks and WI branch documents from across the province, OurDigitalWorld processed the digital files for full-text OCR, including of some handwritten material (HCR) to enable full text searching and ingested batches of multipage volumes into a VITA account. This is a growing collection over more than 1200 Tweedsmuirs, fully searchable Home & Country Newsletter 1934-2015, and ongoing projects to gather public contributions about the works and impact of the Women’s Institutes on their communities.
